Your team plays a crucial role with the quality assurance of high-quality and mostly very unique SRON ‘products’: advanced technology, prototypes, space instruments and data analysis tools for science. We do this by ensuring that each product meets a well-defined set of quality and reliability requirements, for example of NASA and ESA. In this team you will work on detailed Configuration Management and Data Management.

We keep track of each configuration item’s basic configuration and the various configuration statuses (‘as required’, ‘as designed’, ‘as built’, ‘as verified’). We strictly monitor changes within the project (Change Control) and we carefully manage documents and data. You will do this for projects like the Athena and LISA missions of ESA for example. For those missions, you will check documents against project and corporate requirements, verify the completeness of incoming sub-contractor and supplier documents, and manage final documentation in collaboration with project management, and engineering teams. You will maintain an up-to-date, controlled and complete Document Management System (DMS) for projects and operations. You ensure all applicable metadata fields are accurately updated and maintained in our DMS in accordance with SRON and project requirements.

Besides, you will support the chairman of the configuration control board (CCB) for final release of the documents to our customers of ESA and NASA for example. For this, you will attend project kick off meetings, progress meetings and vendor, supplier and/or subcontractor meetings where required. Also you will prepare documentation sets for external parties. With the increasing shift toward data-centric systems, you will bridge traditional document control with digital tools, supporting the seamless flow of project information throughout its lifecycle.
